THEIA announced as Grand Finale to KFW New Collections show in association with Image Magazine on Friday 7th of March in the Malton Hotel, Killarney, County Kerry

Kerry Fashion Week announced that top international fashion designer, Don O’Neill, will exclusively showcase for the first time in Ireland his THEIA Spring 2014 Collection at the KFW New Collections show in association with Image Magazine on Friday 7th of March in the Malton Hotel, Killarney, County Kerry. The Ballyheigue born, New York based designer will personally attend the show along with his partner Pascal Guillermie, and their family and friends. It is also the first time the designer has shown his THEIA Couture collection in a runway show in Killarney and it is certain to provide a spectacular and beautiful finale to the evening.  The 6th annual KFW will take place from Monday 3rd to Saturday 8th of March. Don explains the Inspiration behind this collection
“THEIA Spring 2014 is inspired by a Sunday afternoon stroll in April through The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Its majestic Cherry Blossoms and Magnolia trees were in full bloom. Pale pink puffed out clouds of delicate petals set against the dazzling blue sky inspired a journey to Japan. The Cherry Blossoms became silk prints created from a mixture of my photos, combined with paintings.  The delicacies of the floral prints are juxtaposed with the clean sharp lines of black and white slashed with red, inspired by Japanese calligraphy”.

“Don has been incredibly supportive of KFW since its inception in 2009 when he judged the inaugural Fashion Awards alongside fellow designer Louise Kennedy and Editor of Image Magazine, Melanie Morris. He also showcased some of his first THEIA collection at the event and impressed all  those lucky enough to be in attendance. Last year, Don was our guest of honour at KFW and spoke at the ‘Business of Fashion Seminar’ giving delegates an inspirational and practical insight into his own personal journey to success in the competitive world of international fashion design. The 6th annual Kerry Fashion Week will take place from Monday 3rd to Saturday 8th of March 2014. Once again, KFW14 will celebrate the very best of new, emerging and established Irish fashion industry talents from all over Ireland.

Highlights include the Business of Fashion Seminar in association with the Sunday Business Post and Backstage Banter hosted by IMAGE Magazine on Thursday 6th of March. The KFW New Collections Show, in association with IMAGE magazine, is on Friday 7th of March. All three events are in the Malton Hotel, Killarney. The prestigious KFW Irish Fashion Industry Awards, in association with IMAGE magazine, is on Saturday 8th of March in The Europe Hotel & Resort, Killarney. Other events include a Fashion Photography Exhibition, and a LOVE for Fashion Retail Display Competition in association with The Kerryman. All events are open to the public.
